EIDS Celebrates 34 Years!
Emerald Isle Dance Society (EIDS) is a non-profit organization that has played an integral role in promoting Irish culture in Southwestern Ontario since 1987. We teach Irish dance to absolute beginners through world championship medal holders, and perform at community events and private parties.
Our top-notch dance instructors are under the direction of the Branton Academy of Irish Dance, and are endorsed by An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha, Ireland. Branton Academy is registered to compete in both Eastern Canada and Mid America regions. The school is also affiliated with the McGahan Lees Irish Dance Academy, England, which affords our advanced dancers unique training opportunities.
EIDS/Branton Academy dancers attend feisanna (competitions) throughout Eastern Canada and the American Midwest, performing both solo and ceili (group) dances. At Oireachtas, the regional championship held each autumn, dancers can qualify for the North American Nationals, or even the World Championships.
The best part about EIDS/Branton Academy is our family-friendly community. Pot lucks, movie nights and travelling to feishanna are all part of the fun. Our students not only learn to dance, they make friends and have a great time.
